Grijalva’s deep ties to the district and bold, proven leadership make her the fighter Arizona needs in this historic moment.
WASHINGTON, DC June 25, 2025 — **Latino Victory Fund is proud to announce its endorsement of Adelita Grijalva for Congress in Arizona’s 7th Congressional District. Grijalva, a lifelong public servant and the daughter of the late Congressman Radi Grijalva, brings more than two decades of experience fighting for working families, public education, immigrant communities, and the environment in Southern Arizona.
From her work with at-risk youth to her historic election as the first Latina Chair of the Pima County Board of Supervisors, Grijalva has shown a relentless commitment to equity and justice, and now she’s stepping up to lead at the national level.
“Adelita Grijalva is exactly the kind of leader we need in Congress, bold, experienced, and rooted in community,” said Katharine Pichardo, President & CEO of Latino Victory. “At a time when our democracy is being tested and Latino communities are under attack, we need representatives who understand what’s at stake because they’ve lived it. Adelita has spent her life breaking barriers and delivering results for the people of Arizona. Latino Victory is proud to stand with Adelita because this moment demands fearless leadership – and she’s got that in spades.”
Arizona’s 7th District is one of the nation’s most Latino-populated Congressional jurisdictions, home to a majority Latino population, large immigrant communities, and a vibrant bilingual electorate. Grijalva’s track record—expanding preschool access, defending Mexican-American studies, investing in community health, and protecting the Sonoran Desert—aligns deeply with the needs and values of her district.
If elected, she would continue forging her path as a voice for generational change, environmental justice, and inclusive growth in the region.
“I’m honored to have the support of Latino Victory Fund in this fight for Arizona’s future. Juntos, we are building political power in our communities, defending our values, and ensuring that Latino voices are heard and respected at every level of government. I remain dedicated to uplifting the issues that matter most to Latinos and empowering the next generation of Latino leaders. I’m deeply grateful for the Latino Victory Fund’s continued support and belief in our movement. ¡Gracias por estar conmigo en esta lucha!” said Adelita Grijalva, Democratic candidate for Congress.
This special election comes at a critical time, as the nation grapples with the rise of extremist politics, increased attacks on civil liberties, and a growing movement to silence Latino voices. Latino Victory Fund’s endorsement signals its continued commitment to electing candidates who not only reflect the communities they serve but are also prepared to defend them.
The Democratic primary will take place on July 15, 2025, with the special general election on September 23, 2025.
