With Deadline Approaching, Latino Victory Project Reminds Florida Latinos to Register to Vote

Washington, D.C. — With the October 6, 2014 deadline to register to vote, Latino Victory Project President Cristóbal Alex today encouraged Latinos across Florida to register to vote so that their voices are heard on Election Day.

“Simply put, there are not enough Latinos in office in Florida, and the best way to change that is for more Latinos to vote,” Alex said. “We have an opportunity during this election to make sure our voices are hear, and that starts with registering to vote.”

A 2012 Pew report notes that there are 2.1 million Hispanic eligible voters in Florida—the third largest Hispanic eligible voter population in the United States.

According to the Florida Division of Elections, Floridians should register by mailing or hand-delivering a completed Voter Registration Application to any Supervisor of Elections’ office, a driver’s license office, a voter registration agency including an armed forces recruitment office, public library, or the Division of Elections. Registration must be completed at least 29 days before an election.
