(Washington, D.C.) – Today, a record number of Latino voters showed their support for Mayoral Candidate Jesús “Chuy” García as he fought to unseat incumbent Mayor Rahm Emanuel. Cristóbal Alex, president of Latino Victory Fund, released the following statement:
“Chuy has energized the Latino community, not only in Chicago, but across the country. A champion of his community, he is the kind of authentic candidate that Latino voters are eager to see on the ballot, and I’m hopeful that this enthusiasm will carry over to other important races across the country. For Latinos to be elected to office, not only do they need to run, but we need to support them with financial resources that these trailblazing candidates do not often have access to.
