Latino Victory Fund Applauds President-elect Biden’s Selection of Miguel Cardona as Education Secretary

Washington, D.C. – Today, President-elect Joe Biden announced that he has chosen Miguel Cardona to be appointed Secretary of Education.  Latino Victory Fund President & CEO Nathalie Rayes issued the following statement:

“Latino students are one of the largest groups in the public school system who face education barriers and among the most impacted by economic disparities, as we’ve seen during the pandemic. Miguel Cardona,  an experienced educator, administrator, and a product of our public schools, has the career and real-life experience needed to help redress these wrongs. Beyond increasing Latino representation in the Biden-Harris administration, Cardona’s first-hand experience in public housing and the public school system will bring a valuable perspective to the decision-making table. Latino Victory congratulates Miguel Cardona and looks forward to seeing him apply his experience and vision to ensure our education system works for all.”
