Latino Victory Fund Congratulates Candace Valenzuela on Advancing to Runoff Race for the 24th Congressional District

If Valenzuela wins the runoff race, she will be one step further to making history in November.

Washington, D.C. — Latino Victory Fund congratulates Candace Valenzuela, candidate for Texas’ 24th Congressional District, for advancing to the runoff election in the 2020 primary. If she wins the runoff race, Valenzuela will be one step closer to becoming the first Latina and African-American elected to represent Texas’ 24th Congressional District.

Mayra Macías issued the following statements:

“An educator, advocate, and mother, Valenzuela knows full well what’s at stake in this election, and she has what it takes to fight for our community in Congress.  As the daughter of a family who has served in the military for generations, Valenzuela understands the meaning of public service. She recently served on the Carrollton-Farmers Branch School Board, where she made history as the first Latina to hold this position.”

“Valenzuela understands what it is to struggle. She knows what is at stake for our families and will work tirelessly for Texas’ 24th Congressional District to ensure that they have access to affordable health care, quality education and housing, and more importantly so that they can put food on the table. She’s an inspiring candidate who understands the plight of the working class. Latino Victory is proud to support Valenzuela in this race to ensure that Texas makes history once again by electing the first Latina and African-American to represent the 24th Congressional District.”
