Adam Gomez is the first Latino and first Puerto Rican elected to the Massachusetts State Senate.
Washington, D.C. – Latino Victory Fund congratulates its Massachusetts endorsed candidates for winning their respective races in the November 2020 election. Nathalie Rayes, Latino Victory Fund president & CEO issued the following statements on the historic race in the state:

Meet the Massachusetts Candidate Slate Winners
Adam Gomez, Massachusetts State Senate, Hampden District
Gomez is the first Latino and first Puerto Rican senator in the Massachusetts Senate.
Gomez is a three-term Springfield City councilor first elected in 2015 and an advocate for social justice issues such as immigrant rights, education, and civil rights.
Andy Vargas, Massachusetts House of Representatives, 3rd Essex District
Vargas was elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives at 24, the youngest Latino, and overall one of the youngest elected to the House. He’s an advocate for youth development and violence prevention.
Jon Santiago, Massachusetts State House of Representatives, 9th Suffolk District
Santiago was elected to the House of Representatives in 2018, and he works and cares for underserved communities as an emergency physician at Boston Medical Center.
