Washington, D.C.— Latino Victory Fund congratulated Luis Mata, candidate for Tennessee House of Representatives District 49, and Gabby Salinas, candidate for Tennessee House of Representatives District 96, for winning their primary elections.
Both candidates are one step closer to making history: Mata would be the first Latino immigrant elected to the Tennessee State Legislature, while Salinas would be the first Democratic Latina elected to the Tennessee State Legislature.
