If elected, Valenzuela would become the first Latino/a to represent Texas’ 24th Congressional District.

Washington, D.C.– Today, Latino Victory Fund announced the endorsement of Candace Valenzuela for Texas’ 24th Congressional District. She is the first Latino/a and first African-American woman to serve on the Carrollton-Farmers Branch School Board. If elected to Congress, she will make history by becoming the first Latino/a to represent Texas 24th Congressional District.

Latino Victory Fund Executive Director Mayra Macías issued the following statement.

“Latino Victory Fund is proud to endorse Candace Valenzuela. Valenzuela is the proud, tenacious daughter of a family of generations of military service.  She’s a dedicated educator who has worked to ensure that her community’s families and their children have the opportunity to thrive. Valenzuela knows what it’s like to struggle and to overcome, and she wants to provide the same chance to the people she is elected to represent. With Valenzuela, Texas’ 24th Congressional District will have a voice who will fight for them to ensure they have access to affordable healthcare, quality education, housing and food on their tables. Congress has a dire need for more representatives who can speak to the obstacles working-class Americans face on a daily basis. Candace Valenzuela is that candidate and Latino Victory will work to ensure she wins her historic election.”
