The candidate slate includes potential historic elections, including the first Latino to represent Massachusetts in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Washington, D.C.– Latino Victory Fund announced the endorsement of a slate of state and federal candidates in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The endorsed candidates are Ben Sigel, Massachusetts 4th Congressional District; Adam Gomez, Massachusetts State Senate, Hampden District; Damali Vidot, Massachusetts House of Representatives, 2nd Suffolk District; Andy Vargas, Massachusetts House of Representatives, 3rd Essex District; Jon Santiago, Massachusetts State House of Representatives, 9th Suffolk District; Manny Espitia, New Hampshire House of Representatives, 31st District.
The organization is working to galvanize Latino voters across the country in the 2020 election and support Latino candidates up and down the ballot in states with emerging Latino populations like Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The candidate slate also includes potential historic elections. If elected to office in November, Sigel would be the first Latino to represent Massachusetts in Congress, and Vidot would be the first Latina to represent the 2nd Suffolk District.

Meet the Massachusetts and New Hampshire Candidates:
Ben Sigel, Massachusetts, Massachusetts 4th Congressional District
If elected, Sigel would be the first Latino to represent Massachusetts in the U.S. House of representatives.
Adam Gomez, Massachusetts State Senate, Hampden District
Gomez is a three-term Springfield City councilor first elected in 2015 and an advocate for social justice issues such as immigrant rights, education, and civil rights.
Damali Vidot, Massachusetts House of Representatives, 2nd Suffolk District
Vidot is an at-large city councilor in Chelsea. She made history as the first Latina president and first woman of color to serve two consecutive terms as president of the Chelsea City Council. If elected, Vidot would be the first Latina and first woman to represent this district.
Andy Vargas, Massachusetts House of Representatives, 3rd Essex District
Vargas was elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives at 24, the youngest Latino, and overall one of the youngest elected to the House. He’s an advocate for youth development and violence prevention.
Jon Santiago, Massachusetts State House of Representatives, 9th Suffolk District
Santiago was elected to the House of Representatives in 2018. Santiago is the only Latino Massachusetts state representative from Boston. He works and cares for underserved communities as an emergency physician at Boston Medical Center.
Manny Espitia, New Hampshire House of Representatives, 31st District
Espitia was elected to represent the 31st District in the House of New Hampshire House of Representatives in 2018 and has dedicated his tenure in office to expanding healthcare access.
