Meet the Candidates: Advocates for Progress

Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia – Texas’s 29th Congressional District

Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia has spent her career fighting for justice and equality for all Texans. As one of the first Latina congresswomen from Texas, she has advocated for healthcare access, economic justice, and immigration reform. Garcia has consistently worked to improve conditions for the most vulnerable, from women and children to immigrants and the LGBTQ+ community. Her leadership has made a lasting impact in Texas’s 29th District, and she remains committed to addressing the economic and social challenges her constituents face daily.

“Growing up in a family of ten, picking cotton in rural South Texas, I know firsthand the importance of fighting for those often overlooked. I’m proud to stand with Latino Victory Fund as we continue working to lift the voices of our community and create a more just, equitable future for all,” said Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia.

Annette Ramirez – Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector

With a passion for public service and a dedication to education, Annette brings deep expertise and a community-driven approach to her campaign. She is committed to lowering collection fees, ensuring fair tax practices, and helping every eligible voter register and participate in the democratic process.

“As a proud daughter of immigrants and lifelong advocate for public education, I know how crucial it is to have leaders in office who understand the needs of our communities. I’m honored to receive Latino Victory Fund’s endorsement. I’m ready to fight for fair tax practices and ensure every voice in Harris County is heard and represented,” said Annette Ramirez.

Why These Endorsements Matter
