Throughout his career, Gil has worked to give Latino students educational opportunities and scholarships, and he’s stood up for issues that impact the Latino community. Gil’s an ardent supporter of worker’s rights, abortion care and reproductive health, and gun safety reform. As a member of Congress, he fearlessly stood up against the former president’s extremist policies. We need more fearless voices like Gil back in Congress to join Latino Democrats who will defend our community and push back against MAGA Republicans’ extremist, dangerous policies. Faced with the Trump administration’s draconian attacks on immigrants, Sam fought back by suing to protect Dreamers, and after Dobbs, he led the city’s funding for Planned Parenthood to help women living in states with abortion restrictions. This is the strong leadership and no-nonsense, progressive voice we need in Congress during these challenging times.
