Washington, D.C.—Latino Victory Fund today announced the endorsement of  Governor Tim Walz for vice president, following Vice President Kamala Harris’ announcement naming him as her running mate. Chairman Luis A. Miranda Jr. and President & CEO Sindy M. Benavides issued the following statement:

“Governor Tim Walz is a seasoned public official with a successful track record of service, who complements Vice President Harris’ extraordinary leadership and vision. As a former Member of Congress, serviceman and educator, with a background in agriculture and manufacturing, who now heads the Democratic Governors Association, Walz possesses the executive-level leadership needed to help Vice President Kamala Harris take the ticket to the White House and lead America into the future.”

“Governor Walz has led the state of Minnesota with unwavering conviction in democratic values focusing on the middle and working class. As Governor, he provided free school meals to all students in Minnesota, protected reproductive freedom, cut taxes for the middle class, and expanded paid leave for workers. As Vice President, he will work with President Harris to create jobs and ensure economic opportunities for everyone, guarantee access to affordable healthcare and education, build on democratic successes on climate change action, and he will be a powerful advocate for reproductive freedom. There’s no doubt that Governor Walz is prepared and qualified to help lead our country on day one.”
