If elected, Candelaria Reardon would be the first Latino/a elected to Congress in Indiana.
Washington, D.C.– Today, Latino Victory Fund announced the endorsement of Mara Candelaria Reardon for Indiana’s 1st Congressional District. Candelaria Reardon made history in 2006, when she became the first Latina elected to the Indiana State Legislature. If elected, Candelaria Reardon will make history once more and become the first Latino/a elected to Congress from Indiana.

Her father, Isabelino Candelaria, was the first Puerto Rican appointed to a city council in Indiana and her mother is Victoria Soto, the first Latina elected president of the Indiana Federation of Teachers.
