WASHINGTON – Today, Latino Victory Fund announced their endorsement of Mario Castillo in Houston’s city council elections. Castillo has previously served as Chief of Staff to outgoing Houston City Councilmember Karla Cisneros in District H and currently serves as Executive Director of Your Houston, a nonprofit that improves the quality of life for Houstonians. If elected, he will become the first out LGBTQ+ person to represent Houston’s District H.

The grandson of an immigrant and native of District H, Castillo will continue to be a champion for his community —as he has been for his entire civic career. Castillo is running on a strong platform centered on investing in District H and supporting small businesses to build stronger, safer, and more affordable neighborhoods. Castillo also has bold plans to provide District H’s neighborhoods with the tools needed to protect themselves from gentrification and expand access to affordable health care. Latino Victory Fund is excited to support Castillo in his bid to represent District H and his fight to make Houston a place where everyone can thrive.”
