Washington, D.C.–Latino Victory Fund President and CEO Sindy M. Benavides issued a statement on former President Trump’s criminal cover-up guilty verdict :
“MAGA President Donald Trump covered up his affair with Stormy Daniels to keep voters in the dark so he would not lose the election. The jury’s guilty verdict underscores the serious ethical and legal breaches committed by Donald Trump, which are wholly incompatible with the responsibilities and integrity required to be President.
Simply put, this guilty verdict is disqualifying. It highlights his pattern of lying to voters and interfering with elections so that he may seize and hold on to power.
Trump and his MAGA cronies must be held accountable for their attempts to overturn the will of the people. As a nation, we cannot afford to have a leader who engages in misconduct, let alone one who aspires to the highest office in the land.
Trump and MAGA Republicans will continue to chip away at our freedoms until they face consequences for their crimes. Trump is more suited for the jailhouse than the White House. He must drop out of the Presidential race and face the consequences of his actions.”
