Latino Victory Fund Launches Campaign to tell Microsoft to Stand with Latinos and Cancel Sponsorship of Trump-Led National Republican Convention

Washington, D.C.—Latino Victory Fund today launched a campaign to call on Microsoft, a company that prides itself as a champion of diversity, to take a stand for Latinos and against the hate, bigotry and ignorance that has fueled Trump’s campaign by cancelling sponsorship of the Trump-led Republican National Convention as well as any in-kind contributions to the Host Committee and to the RNC in exchange for promotional consideration.

Since day one of his campaign for the presidency, Trump’s attacks against Latinos, blacks, Muslims, women and immigrants have incited violence against these groups and promoted an America of intolerance and hate.  Not only are these twisted ideals an attack on civil liberties and human rights, they are also un-American and an affront to the values that our nation was built on throughout our rich, multi-cultural history.

“We urge Microsoft to stand up for American values and against hate by refusing to sponsor an event that will offer a platform for Donald Trump’s racism and bigotry,” said Cristóbal Alex, Latino Victory Fund president. “Microsoft is one of our nation’s technology leaders and a champion of diversity, inclusion and social responsibility. Trump’s vision of a nation that excludes, deports and oppresses millions of people runs counter to Microsoft’s values. Now is the time for Microsoft to stand by its values and stand up for those who are under attack by Trump.”

“If we want to continue being a nation of innovators, we must foster the same environment that allowed Microsoft to thrive. We must be a nation of inclusion and opportunity, and one that embraces multiculturalism and shuns oppression in all of its forms. Latino Victory calls on Microsoft to make good on their corporate responsibility values and refuse to sponsor hate. “
