WASHINGTON – Today, House Republicans continue scrambling to find the next Speaker of the House, following nearly three weeks of the top post remaining vacant and failed attempts by MAGA Republicans Jim Jordan and Steve Scalise to secure the gavel.

“It is clear that Republicans in the House cannot come to a consensus on who will lead their party forward. As the GOP continues to play musical chairs, they are paralyzing our government and leaving critical legislation in limbo. The American people can no longer wait on important policy decisions—like funding the government long term. This political theater has to end—it’s time for common-sense legislators to come together in a bipartisan way to offer solutions. Vote after vote the Democratic party remains united behind Hakeem Jeffries and ready to get back to advancing bills and delivering legislative wins for the American people. We need to elect a Democrat to advance our country forward.”
