Latino Victory Fund Statement on the Nevada Senate Race Debate

Washington DC — Tonight, the debate for the Nevada U.S. Senate race took place between Latino Victory Fund-endorsed candidate Catherine Cortez-Masto and U.S. Rep. Joe Heck, R-Nevada. Martín Diego García, Latino Victory Fund director of campaigns, issued the following statement:

“Tonight, Catherine demonstrated that she has the resolve, character, and experience to give the people of Nevada the voice they deserve in the U.S. Senate,” said Martín Diego Garcia, Latino Victory Fund director of campaigns. “Catherine is a dedicated public servant with a proven record. She is prepared to take on the top issues that matter most to the Latino community, including increasing job creation, improving the quality of our children’s education, passing comprehensive immigration reform, protecting DACA and raising the minimum wage. Catherine will go beyond the rhetoric to make these issues a top priority in the Senate and a reality for our community.

“We need a leader in Washington who will move Nevada and our country forward, not backward. Catherine has proven tonight that she is a formidable leader and by far the most qualified candidate.”
