Washington, D.C. — Today, the U.S.House of Representatives voted on a budget resolution to advance key parts of President Joe Biden’s Build Back Better agenda. Nathalie Rayes, Latino Victory Fund president and CEO, issued the following statement:
“This is an important step in advancing President Biden’s agenda for working families and all Americans. This budget resolution brings us closer to making once-in-a-generation investments in key areas of our economy, creating millions of new jobs, investing in our healthcare system, and combating climate change.
“Today’s vote shows that the Biden administration and House Democrats are delivering on their promise to get things done for the American people and build our country back better. Latino Victory commends the House of Representatives for passing a budget resolution that includes a pathway to citizenship for immigrant youth, farmworkers, and essential workers—and that advances the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, a critical legislation to protect every American’s right to vote and our democracy.”
