Washington, D.C.–Latino Victory Fund President & CEO Sindy Benavides issued a statement on former President Trump’s extreme platform heading into the 2024 presidential election:
“Trump showed us who he was throughout his presidency—he’s an unapologetic racist and fascist who will stop at nothing to destroy our country. He’s an out-of-touch extremist hell-bent on implementing policies that harm Latinos, women, immigrants, the LGBTQ+ community, and our democracy. Donald Trump has teamed up with his henchman, Stephen Miller, to cook up a new racist and extreme immigration plan that is deeply un-American. These latest attacks against immigrants and Latinos are delusional and cruel, promising mass deportations and banning birthright citizenship. These policies are only a fraction of Trump’s dystopian vision for the United States—we cannot forget that Trump led an insurrection against our democratically elected government. If he wins, he will inflict irrevocable harm on our democratic institutions and on the American way of life.
