Washington, D.C. — Ahead of President Trump’s visit to New Mexico — the state with the largest Hispanic population in the country — Latino Victory Fund Executive Director Mayra Macías issued the following statement:
“President Trump hosting a campaign rally in a state with the largest Hispanic population in the nation — only a month after a white supremacist massacred Mexican-Americans — is truly sickening. Trump’s anti-Hispanic and anti-immigrant rhetoric only puts our community at risk and is not welcomed in the Land of Enchantment.
Macías added: “Let me make it abundantly clear: Trump and Republicans will not turn New Mexico red in 2020. New Mexican voters, especially Hispanic voters, have rejected all that the Republican Party stands for and will continue to do so for elections to come.”
