Latino Victory Fund Supports Removal of President Trump and the U.S. House’s Decision to Introduce an Article of Impeachment Charging Incitement of Insurrection

Washington, DC – Today, the U.S. House of Representatives introduced an article of impeachment charging President Donald Trump with incitement of insurrection. Latino Victory Fund President & CEO Nathalie Rayes issued the following statement:

“President Trump abandoned his oath of office the day he incited his supporters to lead a violent attack on the U.S. Capitol. He led an insurrection against our government, threatening the lives of the vice president, the speaker of the House, members of Congress, staff, journalists, and Capitol police. Trump and his supporters are not patriots; they are traitors who attempted to interfere in the U.S. Congress’ certification of the 2020 presidential election. It was an attempted coup.

“Every hour that Trump is president puts our country in grave danger. For our country’s safety, President Trump must be removed, as should any politician who voted in favor of overturning the presidential election and supported this attack. If the United States is to remain a democracy, those who attempted to overthrow it must be held accountable, or they will do it again. Latino Victory fully supports Speaker Pelosi and House and Senate Democrats who are moving swiftly to safeguard our nation. We thank them for protecting our democracy.”
