Latino Victory Fund’s Message to President Trump’s Re-Election Launch: “Game On, Trump.”

Washington, D.C. Responding to President Trump’s re-election speech in Orlando tonight, Latino Victory Fund Interim President Melissa Mark-Viverito issued the following statement:

“We thought Trump couldn’t go any lower than when he launched his 2016 campaign by calling Mexicans rapists and criminals, but tonight’s speech proved us wrong. Trump has somehow managed to dig himself deeper into the swamp by launching his 2020 campaign threatening to deport millions of hardworking immigrants and subjecting even more families to painful separations. This repugnant political ploy is just another example of Trump’s disdain for the Latino community. In spite of the attacks and vitriol that Trump has propagated against immigrants and Latinos during his presidency, voters will reject hate and elect the candidate who stands up for our American values and our immigrant communities. This candidate is not Donald Trump.”

Mark-Viverito added, “It’s also laughable that he chose Florida to re-launch his presidential campaign, a state where its diverse electorate will deliver Trump his biggest defeat. Latinos will be the largest non-white voting bloc this election, and rest assured, we will hand Donald Trump his defeat in 2020. Game on, Trump.”
