WASHINGTON – The Biden Administration announced it has extended the Temporary Protected Status of migrants from El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Nepal.
Latino Victory Project Executive Director Sindy Benavides issued the following statement:
“We are thrilled by President Biden’s decision to renew the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) of many migrants living in the United States. These existing TPS holders, many of whom have been living here for years, have fled tragedy in their home countries, such as natural disasters, political turmoil, and violence. They have contributed to this nation for a long time and serve as a vital piece of their community’s social and economic fabric. We are glad to see the Biden Administration protect them from the threats they face back home and embrace them with open arms. The decision is a step in the right direction and will continue to keep families together and safe.”
