Washington, D.C. — Today, the United States Senate voted to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the United States Supreme Court. Latino Victory Project President and CEO Nathalie Rayes issued the following statement:
“Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation to the Supreme Court is a monumental step forward for our judicial system and our country. She’s eminently qualified and a brilliant legal mind who will bring invaluable insight and knowledge to the Supreme Court.
“Judge Brown Jackson’s historic confirmation means that our judicial system will be closer to being truly representative of the diverse country it serves. It also marks the first time a Black woman will serve in the U.S. Supreme Court in its 233-year history. Latino Victory congratulates soon-to-be Justice Brown Jackson for her nomination, and we commend President Biden for delivering on his promise to appoint the first Black woman to the highest court of the land.”
