Latinas, specifically, are the focus of the “Vote Like a Madre” National Campaign, which urges them to consider climate change as they vote with purpose in this important election.
Phoenix, AZ (October 29, 2024) – Latino Victory Project, in partnership with Sí Se Vota Chicanos Por La Causa Action Fund, Mi Familia Vota, UNIDOS US, Hispanic Federation, Voto Latino, One Arizona Promise Arizona, and MamásConPoder, hosted a rally this Sunday, October 27th, as part of the 2024 Vote Like a Madre campaign to inspire and mobilize Latina voters to protect our climate. The rally brought together celebrities, local activists, community members, and volunteers for an afternoon of empowerment and community engagement ahead of Election Day.
This rally is part of Latino Victory Project’s ongoing $2 million effort to increase Latina voter turnout in Arizona and other key states. The Vote Like a Madre campaign aims to harness the power of Latina mothers and families to create a better future for their children and communities. Attendees at the rally were encouraged to make the pinky promise to, safeguard their families from the environmental threats that disproportionately affect Latino communities.
“Climate change awareness and environmental justice are key to our future. We must have a healthy, clean, and environmentally safe planet to have a strong and thriving nation for our children and grandchildren. I will never get tired of lending my voice and energy to make sure we stop climate change, and I am proud that Latino Victory and our partners are committed to spotlighting climate change as one of the pivotal issues,” said Luis A. Miranda, Jr, Chairperson of Latino Victory.
“Latinas are at the heart of our homes and our communities, and they have the power to create real change in this election,” said Katharine Pichardo-Erskine, Executive Director of Latino Victory Project. “Our campaign is about more than just voting—it’s about committing to protect the future of our families. With over 36 million Latinos and Latinas eligible to vote, the time is now for us to use our voices at the ballot box.”
The rally also highlighted the important partnerships with local organizations with long histories of advocating for Latino communities in Arizona and nationwide.

But only if we vote. If we don’t vote, then somebody else, and their values and priorities, will determine our fate. This rally underscores the importance of the Latino vote, and how vital it is to be heard at the ballot box because our vote is our voice.”
