Latino Victory Project Releases Statement on the 22nd Commemoration of 9/11

WASHINGTON – Today, Latino Victory Project Executive Director, Sindy Benavides, released the following statement commemorating the attacks on 9/11.
“Twenty-two years ago our nation was shocked by the tragedy of 9/11. Today, we honor and remember the victims. The impacts of these devastating attacks have reverberated over time. We are forever indebted to the first responders and those who sacrificed their livelihoods to defend this country. We must never forget the victims of the 9/11 attacks, and we will continue to uplift their stories today and every day. More than 250 victims of the 9/11 attacks were Latino. Additionally, Latinos played an integral role in the recovery process, and today, we continue to shine our light for democracy and beyond. Our nation continues to be deeply moved by the loss of life throughout these attacks and whose health was subsequently impacted by the recovery effort. Latino Victory stands by our fellow Americans who suffered the loss of friends, loved ones, and community members through these senseless acts of violence.”
