Washington, D.C. – In response to President Biden’s State of the Union Address, Nathalie Rayes, Latino Victory Project President and CEO, issued the following statement:
“President Biden’s accomplishments are a master class in what an administration can do when it commits to delivering real results for the American people. Tonight’s message from President Biden is clear: America is on the right path. Thanks to policies like the Inflation Reduction Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, our economy is strong, and we’re seeing historic economic growth bolstered by a 50-year record low unemployment rate. These policies are also a tremendous benefit for the Latino community. We’re seeing remarkable results with near record-low Hispanic unemployment levels, lower uninsured rates, lower prescription prices and health care, and policies to stop the impacts of climate change, which significantly affects the Latino community.
“There’s still plenty of work to be done, including passing comprehensive immigration reform and protecting abortion access, issues that also fall on Congress to follow through. However, in the past two years, we’ve seen historic progress thanks to the Biden-Harris administration’s commitment to working for everyday Americans, building our economy bottom-up and middle-out and standing up for American working families. We applaud President Biden, Vice President Harris, and the entire Biden administration for delivering for the American people.”
