Latino Victory Project Statement on Arpaio v. Obama Hearing

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, the United States District Court for the District of Columbia heard Arpaio v. Obama, a lawsuit that seeks to undo President Obama’s recent executive order on immigration. Cristóbal Alex, Latino Victory Project president, released the following statement:

“Today’s hearing marks another unjust, politically charged attempt to take away opportunities for many young Latinos and their families to fully contribute to society. The irony is not lost on us that the plaintiff in this case is an Arizona sheriff who has been investigated for alleged civil rights violations and who has been accused of racially profiling Latinos in his community. We, along with the 81% of Hispanics who support the President’s immigration action, hope that the D.C. District Court finds Arpaio’s claims as baseless as we do.”
