Please see below for Latino Victory Project’s reaction to the Fox-WSJ GOP debate on November 10, 2015:
Pili Tobar, Spokesperson for Latino Victory Project said, “Tonight’s debate further solidified the fact that the Republican presidential candidates are out of touch with the Latino community. Latinos and the American people need and deserve a higher minimum wage; people are struggling to make ends meet and to provide for their families, yet Republican presidential candidates are catering to corporations and special interests, putting more money in their pockets instead of standing behind our families.
“While the anti-immigrant rhetoric de-escalated in this debate, we still haven’t heard a solid plan from any Republican candidate on how they would protect our community from deportation and how they would get immigration reform through Congress. At the end of the day it’s still Republican leadership who are blocking reform in Congress for purely political reasons. We need to hear real plans and solutions for the 11 million undocumented people in this country who live in fear.”
