You heard it right folks, 2018 failed candidate and former Congressman Carlos Curbelo told the Miami Herald that he is thinking of running for Congress again. As funny as this sounds, it should not surprise us that attention-seeking Curbelo is seriously considering running for his old seat. Reacting to this latest development by Curbelo, Latino Victory Fund Communications Director Javier Gamboa issued the following statement:
“Despite desperately trying to portray himself as a moderate during his short-lived stint in Congress, Carlos Curbelo was handed the most embarrassing defeat of his political career in 2018. Congresswoman Debbie Mucarsel-Powell truly represents the values of this Democratic-leaning district, and ever since getting elected to Congress, she’s been a champion for the issues affecting her constituents and Latinos across the country. South Florida voters will never forget that Carlos Curbelo voted with Trump over 80% of the time — including voting to take away their health care — and if he decides to run again, they will outright reject him… again.”
