Former Texas State Senator and Lt. Governor Candidate Leticia Van de Putte
In addition to adding her name to Latino Victory Fund’s “Run, Joaquin, Run!” campaign, former Texas State Senator and Lt. Governor Candidate Leticia Van de Putte issued the following statement:
“It is important to have highly qualified Latino candidates at the top of the ticket to inspire and galvanize our community. We need a dedicated, respected leader like Congressman Castro in this race and I’m so proud to join the thousands in the Run, Joaquin, Run campaign to urge Joaquin to run for U.S. Senate. Our state needs and deserves more leaders like him with the experience, backbone and ganas to make a difference.”
These new additions are part of the growing list of Texans calling on Congressman Joaquin Castro to run for the Senate. Last week, four members of the Texas congressional delegation announced their support: Veronica Escobar, Sylvia Garcia, Vicente Gonzalez and Filemón Vela.
