Washington, D.C. – Today, Latino Victory Project announced the hiring of Pili Tobar as Communications Director. With years of communications and advocacy work on core issues important to the Latino community, she will help the organization continue to grow its reach nationwide.
“We are thrilled that Pili will be joining the Latino Victory team. She has distinguished herself in the fields of communications and Hispanic outreach, and is respected nationally for her professionalism and expertise. Pili embodies the core attributes and values of our mission. We are excited for all that we will accomplish with her addition,” said Latino Victory Project President Cristóbal Alex.
Most recently, Tobar worked for the Democratic National Committee as National Director of Hispanic Media and Western Regional Press Secretary, and as Communications Director for Congressman Ruben Gallego (AZ-07). In 2010, she worked for the advocacy organization America’s Voice to advance comprehensive immigration reform. She is a first generation Guatemalan American, born in Florida and raised in Guatemala City. In 2004, Tobar returned to the United States to attend the University of Miami where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Science and a Master’s degree in Public Administration.
