Ahead of President Trump’s announcement of his sham immigration plan, Latino Victory Fund Interim President Melissa Mark-Viverito issued the following statement:
“President Trump’s sham immigration plan has nothing to do with fixing our broken immigration system. It’s nothing more than another one of his bully pulpit policy proposals created for one purpose — to stoke anti-immigrant hatred and division ahead of the 2020 election. Trump’s racist playbook failed miserably in the 2018 midterms and this new proposal is destined for failure too, but that won’t stop the Republicans from embracing it. The bottom line is that the only way we can stop the President’s hate-filled anti-immigrant agenda is by taking back the United States Senate and the White House in 2020.”
