ROUND UP: Giffords and Latino Victory’s ¡YA BASTA! Latinos Rise Against Gun Violence and Hate Town Hall in El Paso Captivates Local and National Attention

Last Thursday, Giffords and Latino Victory Project hosted a town hall in El Paso, Texas, as part of the ¡YA BASTA! Latinos Rise Against Gun Violence and Hate tour. The town hall was the first stop of an ongoing multi-city tour across Texas to raise awareness in the Latino community about the growing threats of gun violence and the white supremacist-based anti-Latino movement. Present at the town hall were gun violence survivor and founder of Giffords, Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, Congresswoman Veronica Escobar, State Representative César Blanco, among other community leaders and activists.

The Dallas and Houston stops were postponed until the first week of September. As for the San Antonio event, Giffords and Latino Victory Project will be conducting a focus group and will be releasing the results in the coming weeks.
