Faurí “Fau” Aguirre

Special Assistant to the President & CEO

Fau is an intersectional feminist with over a decade of experience in gender, diversity, and inclusion issues. She studied International Relations at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), where she focused her area of expertise on human rights, migration, and gender equality. To contribute to the safe transit of children from Mexico to the United States, Fau presented in her university thesis concrete proposals, with a gender perspective, in terms of short- and long-term public policies to guarantee the protection of their rights. Following this analysis and research on gender mainstreaming in national and international public policies, Fau joined the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) in 2013, where she worked until 2018, passing through the General Directorate of Human Rights and Democracy, the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID), and the office of the Secretary of Foreign Affairs. Subsequently, Fau studied in London, UK, for a Masters in Gender, Media and Culture at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Upon her return to Mexico, Fau joined the leading cybersecurity company in Mexico and Latin America, Metabase Q, where under the lens of gender perspective, she contributed to the development of processes and structure of the company’s operations, and later oversaw the Communication and Marketing Department. She supervised designing the company’s marketing strategy and social media presence, organization, logistics and conduction of webinars, coordination of special projects, from the communication strategy, artwork, development of texts and documents to their execution and follow-up, as well as the review and presentation of deliverables to clients and business partners. Finally, as a passionate about social inclusion and mobility, as well as providing opportunities to people interested in their professional development, Faurí coordinated, designed and implemented the company’s first internship program, as well as the Digital Cyber Academy, through which Metabase Q seeks to build an aware community and foster the development of professional skills in cybersecurity in a recreational and innovative way, contributing to close the talent gap in the industry in Latin America.

In parallel, Fau collaborated and implemented several consulting projects for international organizations and companies such as Condè Nast, OAS, Klar, among others, to create spaces free of gender violence and continues this work through conferences and workshops that invite the audience to reevaluate and deconstruct concepts and acquired knowledge and create together with other women and the LGBTQIA+ community, a different reality where gender equality exists.

In her free time, Fau teaches yoga and meditation classes, enjoys reading romantacy and cuddling her two dogs, Simha and Sombra.
