Raul Martinez

Raul Martinez, Jr. has over 20 years experience in government and political campaigns, working at the local, statewide, and national levels. He currently serves as District Director for Congresswoman Donna Shalala (FL-27), after serving as Donna Shalala for Congress’ Political Director.

Most recently, Mr. Martinez served as the Florida Coalitions Director for Hillary for America, Prior to that Mr. Martinez served as District Director and Chief of Staff for U.S. Congressman Joe Garcia (FL-26.) During President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign, Mr. Martinez served as the campaign’s Hispanic Vote Director for Florida.

Mr. Martinez is an active member of various community and civic organizations and has been instrumental in various countywide events. He has chaired the Historical Museum of South Florida Tropee Executive Council and has served on various committees, including the South Florida Latin GRAMMY Awards Welcoming Committee, International POW WOW Convention Committee, United Way of Miami-Dade County Board of Trustees, the South Florida Super Bowl XXXIII Host Committee, and worked with the Orange Bowl Festival Committee.

Mr. Martinez began his government service at Miami International Airport as a Public Information Representative. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from Florida International University. He is married to Isabel Martinez, a Miami attorney, and they have two children, Raul III and Lucas Oliver.
