Washington, D.C. — Today, October 14, 2014 is the deadline to register to vote in Oregon. Latino Victory Project President Cristóbal Alex today encouraged Latinos across Oregon to register to vote so that their voices are heard on Election Day.
“There are nearly 150,000 eligible Latino voters in Oregon, and yet our representation in office does not reflect this power,” Alex said. “Remind your friends and family that today is the last day in Oregon to ensure our voices will be heard on November 4th. We can’t miss this opportunity.”
A 2012 Pew report notes that there are 146,000 Hispanic eligible voters in Oregon, making it the 21st largest Hispanic eligible voter population nationally.
According to the Oregon Secretary of State, residents of the state can register TODAY in-person at a county elections office or online. In order to register online, eligible voters must have a current Oregon driver’s license or state ID card issued by the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles.
