WASHINGTON – Today, Latino Victory Fund is proud to congratulate George Martinez for his election to the Anchorage Assembly, District 5, Seat I. With his victory, Martinez now becomes the first ever Afro-Latino elected to the Anchorage Assembly in history.

For the first time, an Afro-Latino has been elected to the Anchorage Assembly. Throughout his career in public service, non-profit leadership, and diplomacy, George has demonstrated that he has what it takes to stand up for East Anchorage. As a dedicated servant to his community, he has volunteered hundreds of hours to uplift the youth in Anchorage and ensure working families have the resources needed to participate fully in civic life. His campaign centered on practical solutions for all of East Anchorage, focusing on public safety, a strong economy, and infrastructural investments. Now, as Anchorage welcomes its newest Assemblyman, East Anchorage will have a champion for justice and equity in elected office.”
