Latino Victory Fund Congratulates Nevada State and City Candidates on Winning Primary Elections

Washington, D.C.—Latino Victory Fund, the most influential national organization working to strengthen Latino representation and helping mobilize Latino voters ahead of the presidential election, today congratulated its candidates on winning their primary elections in the battleground state of Nevada.

The candidates are Shelly Crawford, Nevada State Senate District 1; Sandra Jauregui, Nevada State Assembly District 41; Cinthia Moore, Nevada State Assembly District 11; and Selena Torres, Nevada State Assembly District 3.

Statement from Latino Victory Fund President & CEO Sindy M. Benavides on Shelly Crawford, candidate for Nevada State Senate District 1:
“Shelly’s been dedicated to her community throughout her entire career, and this win is one step closer to an even stronger platform to improve the lives of all the people of Nevada. As an educator, she understands that expanding access to quality schools will ensure more Nevadans have access to more opportunities for economic mobility— and brighter futures. She will use her voice in the state Senate to fight for access to health care, education and affordable housing, all issues that will improve her community. Latino Victory Fund congratulates Shelly on her important victory and we look forward to seeing her win again in the general election in November.”

Statement from Latino Victory Fund President & CEO Sindy M. Benavides on Sandra Jauregui, candidate for Nevada State Assembly District 41:
“Latino Victory Fund congratulates Assemblymember Jauregui on winning the primary election. She’s a champion for policies that will make Nevada a safer community and a prosperous place to live, including pro-conservation policies, gun violence prevention and access to affordable housing. Her voice is critical in Nevada’s state assembly, as a Latina who stands up for Nevada’s working families and who supports issues that will strengthen her district, the Latino community and all Nevadans .”

Statement from Latino Victory Fund President & CEO Sindy M. Benavides on Cinthia Moore, Nevada State Assembly District 11:
“Cinthia supports policies that will make Nevada a stronger state. For two decades, she’s led the charge in key climate change policies and environmental protections, which are critical for all Nevadans’ economic and health well-being. Clean air, clean energy and water conservation are more critical than ever as Nevada faces the effects of climate change, and Cinthia knows what it’s like to lead the charge in this fight. She’s also a strong advocate for access to affordable housing and small businesses—two key policies that impact Latinos. Latino Victory Fund congratulates Cinthia on her primary election win.”

Statement from Latino Victory Fund President & CEO Sindy M. Benavides on Selena Torres, Nevada State Assembly District 3:
“We need more voices from educators and union members in elected office to improve policies that expand education access for marginalized communities and strengthen worker rights and protections. Selena is the right person, at the right time, having dedicated her life and career to advocating for equal opportunity and standing up for working families. She’s fought for educational equity, economic opportunity and language access, three critical issues for Latino families and all Nevadans. Latino Victory Fund is proud to congratulate Selena Torres on her important win.”
