Latino Victory Fund Congratulates Senator Catherine Cortez Masto for Her Re-election to the United States Senate

Latino Victory was the first national Latino organization to endorse Cortez Masto to protect the U.S. Senate’s only Latina Senator

Washington, D.C. — Today, Latino Victory Fund congratulated Senator Catherine Cortez Masto for being re-elected to the United States Senate in the 2022 election.

The organization first endorsed Cortez Masto’s 2016 historic candidacy when she became the first Latina elected to the United States Senate. In 2021, Latino Victory was the first national Latino organization to endorse her for reelection.

Nathalie Rayes, Latino Victory Fund President and CEO, released the following statement:

“Senator Cortez Masto’s reelection is a resounding victory for the Latino community in Nevada and the entire country. She’s proven to be an effective legislator in the Senate, a strong voice for Nevada’s working families, and an indispensable representative for Latinas in the U.S. Senate. A win for Senator Cortez Masto means Latinas will continue being represented in the Senate chambers, and that’s crucial because Latinas are 31 million strong nationwide and contribute tremendously to the workforce and economy.

“Nevadans have spoken, and they chose a Senator who will help create more jobs, strengthen the economy, defend reproductive rights, and continue expanding affordable healthcare. Senator Cortez Masto has been a champion for the Latino community and has fought to protect Dreamers. Latino Victory is proud to congratulate Senator Cortez Masto on her well-deserved victory and looks forward to seeing her continue serving Nevadans and being a champion for Latinos in Congress.”
