“Councilman Aguirre has been an important voice in the Alexandria City Council, both as a legislator working to implement policies to improve the lives of Alexandrians and as a member of the city’s growing Latino community. Since being elected in 2018, Councilman Aguirre has focused on expanding housing opportunities, advancing investments in public education and transportation infrastructure, eliminating healthcare inequities, and making government more accessible and accountable. Councilman Aguirre’s policy priorities will improve the city’s overall quality of life and help working families prosper. Latino Victory Fund is excited to endorse him in his re-election campaign and look forward to continuing to work with Councilman Aguirre to bring forth bold, meaningful change for good in the City Council.”

Statement on Zuraya Tapia-Hadley by Sindy M. Benavides, Latino Victor Fund President & CEO:

“School boards are critical because they implement policies that impact our children in their most formative years. Zuraya Tapia-Hadley brings a wealth of experience and a forward-thinking vision to the Arlington County School Board. Not only is Zuraya a 20-year resident of Arlington County, but she’s also a mom to two children who attend the Arlington school system, and has been civically and politically active at all government levels. Zuraya will focus on safety, ensuring students receive a good quality education, and harnessing effective communication between the school board, parents and the community, fostering transparency. She’s ready to work with the board to create positive change for students, families and educators. Latino Victory Fund is proud to support Zuraya Tapia-Hadley for Arlington County School Board.”
