WASHINGTON – Today, Latino Victory Project celebrates the one year anniversary of the passage of the CHIPs and Science Act, landmark legislation that invests in American manufacturing, research and development, and strengthens the supply chain. Latino Victory Project Executive Director, Sindy Benavides, released the following statement.
“The CHIPs and Science Act solidified the Biden administration’s commitment to build back better. With the signing of the CHIPs and Science Act into law, America remains a leader in the production of semiconductors – a vital component to hundreds of thousands of consumer products. As an all encompassing effort to revitalize American manufacturing and technology, the CHIPs and Science Act aimed to create more jobs, help keep prices to consumer products low, and help struggling families. The CHIPs and Science Act also authorizes the investment of equitable opportunities in STEM innovation, particularly for marginalized communities. Future generations of Latino students who are on the cutting edge of scientific discovery now hold the opportunity to realize their dreams and careers in STEM. The Biden Administration has demonstrated its willingness to build upon our strengths and move our country forward.”
