Latino Victory Project to Host Path to Victory Training in Wisconsin on June 23-24

WASHINGTON – This weekend, in collaboration with national organizations and in-state partners, Latino Victory Project will host a Path to Victory training in Wisconsin. Alongside the National Democratic Training Committee, Pipeline Fund, Run for Something and in-state partners, this training will empower and equip Latino leaders with the tools to run and win elected office.

The Wisconsin Path to Victory Training will run between June 23 and June 24th with in-state partners Wisconsin Progress and Voces de la Frontera Action co-hosting the event. The next training will be in Florida

“Latino Victory is incredibly excited to welcome Latino leaders and political hopefuls from the state of Wisconsin to the fight for a stronger democracy. At Latino Victory, we understand the importance of building Latino political representation throughout all levels of government,” said Sindy Benavides, Executive Director of Latino Victory Project. “This training is an opportunity to build a bench of Latino candidates in the Midwest, empower Latino voices across  places and spaces, and ensure Latino political power remains strong ahead of 2024. Latinos understand the vitality of government. In Wisconsin, we have seen the community rise up to support progressive issues impacting Latinos. This is a path toward victory, and we are thrilled  to be in community with Wisconsin Progress, Voces de La Frontera Action, and national organizations. ”

Wisconsin’s Latino communities are a vital and growing part of our state. Wisconsin Progress is thrilled to host this fantastic collaboration led by Latino Victory Project to ensure Latino voices are heard as elected officials all across our state,” said John Smallwood, Executive Director Wisconsin Progress.“Voces de la Frontera Action is honored and inspired to partner with Wisconsin Progress and Latino Victory Project to cohost our first Latinx candidate training program. This training is the first of others to come that builds on Voces de la Frontera Action’s 19 years of strong electoral organizing in Wisconsin with Latinos and multiracial youth,” said Christine Neumann-Ortiz, Executive Director Voces de la Frontera Action. To advance the struggle for immigrant rights, racial justice, workers rights and democracy, our members recognize that it is not enough to mobilize the Latinx community to vote and hold elected officials accountable to their promises, but we must also create a leadership pipeline for our members and other progressive Latinxs to run for elected office in order to advance pro-immigrant, pro-worker policies. Immigrants, Latinxs and multiracial youth have been—and will continue to be—the largest growing voting bloc, an essential part of the workforce and are in the fabric of rural, suburban and city communities across Wisconsin. To win back state driver licenses, tuition equity, voting rights and achieve quality health care and education for all, means we must elect more people of color champions at all levels of government that will prioritize the needs of immigrant workers and their families and stand in solidarity with all oppressed people against the forces of hate, division and greed. Si se puede!”
