Latino Victory Fund Endorses Albert Vega for Springfield District Supervisor,Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, VA

WASHINGTON – Today, Latino Victory Fund, the most influential national organization helping to build political power within the Latino community at every level of government, endorsed Albert Vega for Springfield District Supervisor in the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.  

This is the governing body of over 1 million Northern Virginians, with responsibility for setting local tax policy, approving land use plans, carrying out enacted ordinances, and making appointments to important local boards and authorities. If elected, Vega would become the third Latino member and he would flip to Democrat the last remaining Republican seat on the board.

Albert Vega has been on the front lines of supporting our communities and our nation throughout his entire adult life.  We need committed leaders like him in the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors to bring the value of their education, skills and experience and help us solve our most complex problems.  From trouble-shooting tough technical issues for the U.S. Army in Afghanistan to growing a small business, helping in disaster response and humanitarian aid efforts, and supporting non-profit efforts to provide young women with hands-on STEM exposure, he’s been a champion for Northern Virginia. Latino Victory is thrilled to endorse him for election as Springfield District Supervisor.”

Meet the Candidate:

  • Albert Vega grew up in El Paso, Texas and obtained his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso.  He obtained his master’s of electrical engineering and Ph.D. at Purdue University.
  • He is the Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of Building Momentum, a technology and buildspace/makerspace consulting and development firm, which also provides training on problem-solving skills to service members, educators, and leaders of various-sized businesses and institutions.
  • He also helped found and is a current board member of Athena Response, a non-profit organization formed to impact the community through a similar style of technology training and through applying technology and training in humanitarian aid/disaster response situations near and abroad.
